Transfers between your own accounts

How Coinfig matches a withdrawal to the deposit it became, and why that is not a sale.

Transfers between your own accounts: How Coinfig matches a withdrawal to the deposit it became, and why that is not a sale.

Key points

  • Coinfig pairs each withdrawal with the deposit it became, by hash or a close fit on time and amount.
  • A matched transfer between your own accounts is not a disposal, so the coins keep their cost.
  • When a movement stays unmatched, connect the other account so Coinfig can find its pair.
  • Withdrawals that never match follow your Preferences: a move to your own wallet, or a disposal at market value.
  • A network fee paid in the coin itself is still a small disposal, and worth recording.

Moved coins from an exchange to your own wallet? Coinfig treats that as a move, not a sale. Here is how it knows.

On Data completeness, open Transfer matching. Coinfig pairs each withdrawal with the deposit it became. It shows how many transfers matched, and the time window and amount tolerance it matched within.

Show matched transfers lists each pair with the time between its legs, matched by hash or by a close fit on time and amount. Coinfig treats a matched transfer between your own accounts as not a disposal. The coins keep their cost. Unmatched movements are listed with the reason, and whether each one affects your score. View opens the transaction. Connecting the other account lets Coinfig find its pair.

For withdrawals that never find a match, Preferences sets the treatment: a move to a wallet you own, or a disposal at market value. Whichever you choose, the audit report lists each one. A network fee paid in the coin itself is still a small disposal.

Pairs are matched for you. Strays are explained. You choose how strays are treated.
